LCC hosts 17th Fiesta Folkloriada, brings int’l dance culture to LCCians, Silvercresters
In a celebration of cultural diversity and the rich tapestry of global dance traditions, the 17th Fiesta Folkloriada, an International Dance Festival consisting of five top dance companies from Austria, Indonesia, Poland, South Korea, and Spain performed and paraded their rich culture and traditions with the Bayanihan Dance Company that captivated audiences at Carlos R. Mojares Gymnasium in Lipa City Colleges, December 7.
The celebration of the 17th Fiesta Folkloriada, the main highlight of the celebration of PAG-USBONG: Lipa City Colleges’ 76th Founding Anniversary, commenced in a welcoming parade led by the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Dina Catalina C. Dayon
The main show started in the afternoon with a colorful opening performance of selected Silvercresters from the grade School department, followed by a solemn prayer and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem.
Participants from Austria, Spain, Indonesia, Poland, and South Korea showcased their national dance costumes in the parade of nations, which is warmly welcomed by LCCians and Silvercresters.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Dayon warmly welcomed the guests and participants of the said event, and the tokens and certificates were given along with the Director for the Student Services, Marketing, Scholarships, Linkages, and Career Placement, Mr. Aldwin R. Jose.
In collaboration with Bayanihan, the National Dance Company of the Philippines, performers from Austria, Spain, Indonesia, Poland, and South Korea displayed their diverse dance styles accompanied by traditional and contemporary songs.
Dancers from various countries seized a photo opportunity, spreading joy among LCCians and Silvercresters creating a memorable and culturally rich experience for all.
Before the event concluded, Mr. Aldwin R. Jose delivered his closing remarks expressing gratitude for the outstanding performances of dancers from different countries who participated in the 17th Fiesta Folkloriad International Dance Festival 2023.
