At Southgate Institute of Malvar we believe that all children have the innate ability to learn if given the opportunity to receive a quality education. We believe that there is a common core knowledge that needs to be transmitted to students in a systematic and disciplined way: the moral, spiritual and intellectual. The school must encourage students to demonstrate intellectual engagement, critical and creative thinking, respect for individual differences, and a strong sense of personal and social responsibility to become useful member of society. A Sentinel, as we call our students, seeks honor as well as achievement, and is described "the intellectually capable boy or girl of sound character whose talents, interests and uniqueness are educational assets for other children”.
